🌍 SociaVerse around the world
Your country, your city, your currency and local emergency numbers.
SociaVerse works in every country. Choose your country when you sign up, or change it any time in Account → Profile.
What changes with your country
- Your 3D city. The world opens in your home city (for example London, Nairobi, Mumbai or New York), with that country's street style, shop signs and traffic. Cars drive on the left in countries that do, such as the UK, India, Kenya and Australia.
- Money. Jobs you post start in your local currency, and pay shows with your currency symbol.
- Safety. SOS screens and emails show the emergency numbers for the country you are in, including when you are visiting another country.
- Getting paid. Automatic bank payouts work in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa, Rwanda and Malawi. Nigeria and Ghana accounts are confirmed by the bank instantly; in the other countries our team checks your details once, on your first payout. Everywhere else, our team pays you after each job. See Getting paid automatically.
- Employer checks. Use your country's business registration number (for example CAC in Nigeria or Companies House in the UK), or your ID if you hire as an individual.
Travel
Trips inside your own country are cheap. Going abroad needs a passport and a visa, paid in Verse Coins. See Travelling between cities and abroad.
Don't see your city? Ask us to add it. Until then, the world opens with your country's style.
Your local time
Times on SociaVerse, such as event start times, chat messages, "needed by" times for gigs and check-ins, are shown in your own time zone, detected by your browser. If you travel, they update automatically.
City landmarks
Many cities have their own landmark at the end of the Central Square's main road, such as a cable-stayed bridge in Lagos, the pyramids in Cairo and the opera house shells in Sydney.
